Twin State Inc. (TSI) is pleased to announce the launch of two new liquid nutrient products for Spring 2027: FYve-ss, a seed-safe starter fertilizer, and ThrYv, a UAN-compatible nutrient package.  This launch reflects TSI’s ongoing commitment to combining new technologies to improve nutrient efficiency with environmentally responsible placement, increase yields, and support farmer profitability.

Both products were developed in response to customer requests. Customers were looking for a seed-safe starter that also provided sulfur. FYve-ss meets that need with five nutrients in a seed-safe ratio designed for in-furrow application with corn. Dr. Jake Vossenkemper, Director of Agronomy and Research for TSI, has thoroughly evaluated FYve-ss in research plots across Illinois and Iowa. Vossenkemper says, “Our research indicates that in-furrow sulfur can provide a positive yield response. I’ve put FYve-ss through our testing protocols and have seen consistent yield results. Developing an in-furrow phophorus option for our customers has been a long-term project, and I’m confident in what we’re bringing to the field.”

ThrYv was developed with a focus on yield enhancement and environmental stewardship. The product gives farmers a UAN-compatible option that can help reduce an application trip while placing nutrients near the row and close to planting. According to Vossenkemper, the combination of nitrogen and sulfur can enhance phosphorus availability—one reason he is excited about ThrYv. Vossenkemper says, “there is an absolute reason to have sulfur near the roots early season to help yield and ROI.”

TSI Sales Manager Del Tjepkes also sees farmer value in the new product offerings. Regarding FYve-ss, he said, “Having another seed-safe product that provides key micronutrients will be a benefit for our customers.” When asked about ThrYv, Del said, “ThrYv is a new concept for fertilizer placement, when you think about spoon-feeding a crop, this is another advancement in placement and timing for the industry.”
